Today, 18 years after Operation Solomon, there are 120,000 Ethiopian Jews in Israel. Thousands have become an integral part of Israeli society. However, many Ethiopian-Jews are still struggling. A crucial factor is receiving an adequate education so that they can build a successful future for themselves.
NACOEJ, the North American Conference on Ethiopian Jewry, runs intensive after-school programs called Limudiah to enable elementary school Ethiopian children to achieve academic success. Your students can be a part of this by taking action!
- Create a Mitzvah Project with your class.
- See examples of Mitzvah Projects.
- Set up your own webpage for your project on our website.
- Encourage giving chai– donations in multiples of $18 in honor of the 18th anniversary of Operation Solomon.
