AAS Sponsorships Encourage Students to Develop Their Potential
Working part-time jobs to make ends meet; supporting their immigrant families; providing for themselves … these are some of the obstacles Ethiopian-Israeli college students face as they try to earn higher degrees. Very few Ethiopian-Israeli families can help their children pay for college expenses, which include rent, food, transportation, textbooks, and even tuition. In too many cases, the financial burden forces bright Ethiopian students to drop out and take unskilled jobs. AAS scholarships (and the encouragement of their sponsors) help them stay in school and earn a degree, preparing them for careers, breaking the cycle of poverty.

Sponsor an Ethiopian-Israeli college student and help them achieve their dreams. We will make a match between you and one or more students. Sponsors receive a biography of each sponsored student with a photo and will continue to hear from the student throughout the academic year. If you visit Israel, a visit with your student can be arranged.
High School Sponsorships Help Students Attend Good Local Schools
Being left out of school trips; going without textbooks; attending low-level government-subsidized boarding schools because their parents can’t afford local public school costs … these are some of the challenges many Ethiopian-Israeli teens experience.

High school tuition is covered by the Israeli government, but schools charge additional fees that are often beyond the means of Ethiopian immigrant families. NACOEJ sponsorships cover these costs, so that Ethiopian teens can attend good schools in their local communities and get a better education, increasing their chances of getting into a good college or university.
